Please do not rely on Jamun for any medical diagnosis or treatment decisions. Conversations with Jamun do not establish a doctor-patient relationship.

What Data We Collect

We limit the data we collect to what is necessary to provide you with a personalized and helpful experience.

Account Information: If you create an account, we will collect & store basic details such as your name, gender, age, location and phone number (for authentication).
Conversational Data: We collect the text and voice inputs you provide during your conversations with Jamun. This includes your mood entries, journal logs, and the dialogue you have with the AI.
Usage & Device Data: We collect technical information such as your device type, operating system, IP address, and general usage patterns (e.g., how long you use the app). This helps us fix bugs and improve app stability.
Surveys & Support Communications: We collect information when you voluntarily participate in research surveys or contact us for help. If you email us or interact with our support team, we retain your contact details and the content of your messages to resolve your issues and improve Jamun.

What We Send & To Whom

To power the conversational capabilities of the app, we partner with industry-leading third-party AI services. Currently, we use OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini.

When you speak or type to Jamun, your transcribed voice text, direct text inputs, and your name are sent to these providers to ensure a highly personalized and contextual conversational experience.

How Data Is Processed

When you use Jamun, both your voice inputs (which are transcribed to text) and your direct text inputs are securely transmitted to our AI partners.

The sole purpose of processing your data by these AI model providers is to help generate relevant and high-quality conversational responses within the Jamun application.

Neither provider uses submitted Jamun input for advertising purposes. Jamun has contractual agreements with each provider that require the protection of user data at least to the same standard as described in this Privacy Policy.

What We Share

WE DO NOT SELL YOUR DATA: We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information or conversation history to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties.

Service Providers: We share data only with trusted vendors who help us run the app (e.g., cloud hosting providers like AWS/Google Cloud, database managers). These partners are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and cannot use your data for their own purposes.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by Indian law (e.g., a court order) or to protect the safety of our users or the public in an emergency.
Profile Details Safety: Except for name, other profile details you have stored in the app (age, gender, location, mobile number, etc.) are strictly confidential and are not transmitted to any 3rd-party AI providers or external services.

Encryption and Security

Encryption: All conversations are encrypted in transit (when sent from your phone to our servers) and at rest (when stored in our database).
No Human-in-the-Loop for Identification: No human can read your raw, identified conversation logs. Any quality assurance is done on strictly anonymized datasets where your identity is stripped away.

Your Rights & Control

You are in control of your data. Under applicable laws and our internal policies, you have the following rights:

Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Correction: You can ask us to fix incorrect account information.
Right to Deletion: You can delete specific conversation history or your account as a whole within the app.

Impact on AI Performance: Please note that Jamun relies on past conversations to understand your context and history. If you delete any or all of your past conversations, Jamun will "forget" whatever you have discussed previously. This means the AI will lose the ability to provide personalised advice based on your past experiences, and future interactions may feel like starting over with a stranger.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with the Jamun service and for legitimate and essential business purposes, such as maintaining the performance of the Jamun service, making data-driven business decisions about new features and offerings, complying with our legal obligations, and resolving disputes.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption and strict access controls, to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Use by Underage Individuals

Jamun is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. However, we have no way to definitively verify the age of the user. If we are made aware of any individual below the age of 18 using the app without consent from parents/guardian, we will take steps to restrict access immediately.
